    FAQs

    Can anybody join Y3C?

Y3C is open to all young people between the ages of 11 - 18 who either live or go to school in Merseyside, Lancashire or Cheshire. There is no audition and you do not have to have already been in choirs however we are looking for enthusiastic young singers who are interesting in working together with other young people to create a wonderful choir.

You can sign up by clicking the link below. This link will take you to a secure form where you can tell us your name and other vital information so we can contact you.

Your information will be shared with your local music education hub who may be in touch before the rehearsal date if, for example, the hub is organising transport to the rehearsals.

Places in the choir are limited. We will let you know whether your application has been successful by the end of September and we will also send you the final details of the rehearsals by email.

How do I get to the Brain Charity centre?

The Brain Charity is a building in the centre of Liverpool. It is a short walk from Liverpool Lime Street station and close to a number of bus routes.

There is limited parking on site so we suggest you use a near by car park (such as those on Kempston Street opposite). Please note if you are driving and using a sat nav it may be worth putting the car park address into the sat nav rather than the brain charity to avoid one way systems!

    How much will it cost?

The choir has been subsidised by our Music Educational partners and so it is free to be a part of as long as you live or go to school in any of the following areas:

    Chester West and Chester
    Halton
    Knowsley
    Lancashire
    Liverpool
    Sefton
    St Helens
    Warrington
    Wirral

What does a day at Y3C look like?

As this is our first year we do not know exactly what each day will look like but we do know every Y3C rehearsal will be different!

You can expect that the day will be split into big rehearsals where we will sing a mixture of different types of repertoire. We will also rehearse in smaller groups, depending on age, where you will get to work with vocal coaches and teachers and get high quality input into your singing.

We are also hoping that some days will involve workshops with visiting practitioners specialising in different aspects of singing such as musical theatre or gospel.
